Florida Scores and Score Sharing
CLT is pleased to help Florida students reach their academic goals! On this page, you will find answers to questions about score requirements for Bright Futures scholarships, graduation, and dual enrollment, as well as how to share your scores.
Please note: The information contained on this page applies only to the CLT, not the CLT10. The CLT10 does not meet any of the requirements at this time.
What scores do I need to qualify?
Students can satisfy the testing requirement of Florida's Bright Futures Scholarship Program with CLT. There are two awards in the Bright Futures scholarship: Florida Medallion Scholars (FMS) and Florida Academic Scholars (FAS). See the chart to the right to learn what scores are required.
Please note your specific graduation year as the requirements set by the Florida legislature are subject to change each year.
Which scholarships can I get for each award?
FMS recipients may receive up to 75% of tuition and applicable fees covered for up to five years. This award can help you complete your first baccalaureate degree by covering up to 120 credit hours.
FAS recipients may receive an award amount equal to 100% of tuition and applicable fees for a maximum of 120 semester hours toward the completion of a first baccalaureate degree. Please see this page for more information about Bright Futures.
Can I superscore to meet my requirements?
Yes, you can! Superscoring takes the highest score from each individual section of your exam across all of the CLT exams you have taken.
To use superscoring, you will need to send all score reports that have the section scores you would like to use to Bright Futures, and they will compile them for you.
Are there other requirements?
Yes, there are. Please see this page for more information on the 2024-2025 school year requirements.
How do I send my scores to Bright Futures?
The process is easy! We have an option to send the scores directly to Bright Futures on our score share page as shown below. Sharing your score with a public college in Florida will also automatically send your score to Bright Futures.
CLT does not offer a superscoring option. To use superscoring, you will need to send all score reports to Bright Futures, and they will compile them for you.
What scores do I need to pass graduation requirements?
While the CLT is not a pass-fail exam, the Florida Department of Education has set specific guidelines that students must meet in order to graduate. You may take the CLT even if you have already graduated.
To determine if your score qualifies for the graduation requirement, look at the section scores through the "View" button .
Please see the chart on the right to learn what scores Florida requires to meet the Reading and Algebra graduation requirements.
How do I find that score on my report?
You can find the section scores in two places on your dashboard; both options are listed under your overall test score. The first option is the "View" button. This will show your overall score and the score from each section. The second option is the "Analytics" button. This will show your overall score, section scores, and other helpful test performance feedback!
The picture below shows how to interpret your section scores.
Can I only take one section if that's all I need?
CLT exams are intended to be administered in their entirety and are not available to purchase by section. We recommend students take the full exam to provide a comprehensive assessment. That said, each section is scored independently and is valid for graduation requirements without the remainder of the test.
How do I share my qualifying scores with my high school?
Our score sharing process is simple. Enter the email address of your school administrator, and the official CLT score report will be sent electronically. This might be a guidance counselor, graduation coach, or any other administrator. See below for how to share scores from your student dashboard.
Can I superscore for graduation requirements?
Yes, you can! Superscoring takes the highest score from each individual section of your exam across all of the tests you have taken with us.
To superscore for the reading requirement, you must use a score from both the Verbal Reasoning section and the Grammar/Writing section; you cannot combine two scores from the same section even if that equals 36
You will need to send all score reports that have the section scores you would like to use to your high school, and they will combine them together for you.
What scores do I need to qualify for dual enrollment?
The Florida Department of Education has set the dual enrollment requirements. The scores are different than those required for graduation. Please see the chart to the right for the scores required for dual enrollment.
See "How do I find that score on my report?" to locate your section scores.
What else do I need to qualify?
A CLT score can meet the college readiness assessment for dual enrollment requirements. For more information about qualifying for Florida dual enrollment, please visit this page.
Can I superscore for the dual enrollment requirement?
Some colleges allow superscoring while others do not. Please contact the college where you plan to attend in order to understand their requirements.
